Sprinkler systems are automatic extinguishing systems that are among the most important fire protection devices in buildings. In this article, you will learn everything you need to know about this life-saving technology.
What is a sprinkler system in detail?
A sprinkler system is a permanently installed fire protection system consisting of a water supply with a network of pipes and special sprinkler heads.
The special feature: The system works fully automatically and reacts specifically where a fire occurs.
What is a sprinkler?

A sprinkler is an element of the sprinkler system that is installed on the ceiling throughout the building. They are equipped with a temperature-sensitive glass barrel that bursts when a certain temperature is reached.
The trigger temperature is around 30°C above the normal room temperature and can be selected between 57°C and 340°C depending on requirements. If this temperature is exceeded, the glass barrel bursts and water is released through the sprinkler head.
Good to know: Only the sprinklers in the immediate vicinity of the source of the fire open - an important advantage that prevents unnecessary water damage.
