The automatic door is an automated door with a swing-leaf or sliding door operator. Automatic doors open and close on their own based on a motion detector or push button. In combination with smoke detectors and additional equipment, automatic door operators can also be fitted to fire doors.

They are frequently used in the entrance areas of office buildings, shopping centers, hospitals, or accessible entrances for people with disabilities. Other application areas include stairwells and garage passageways. In addition, automatic doors respond to approaching people. Automatic door systems also provide sufficient closing force and, with additional equipment, reliably secure escape and rescue routes in the event of a fire.

For an automatic door with swing-leaf operator, you can choose between a single-leaf or double-leaf door. With additional equipment, swing-leaf operators can be fitted to both fire doors and smoke protection doors. For the sliding door operator variant, an automatic sliding door with single-leaf or double-leaf elements, or a telescopic sliding door, is available. Person detection for the automatic door is ensured by radar detectors, push buttons, light curtains, or sensor strips.

Maintenance of an Automatic Door

Maintenance of an automatic door is essential. Automatic door systems are subject to an annual inspection requirement. Automatic sliding door systems in escape route areas are even subject to a semi-annual maintenance requirement.
