Fire Gate - Consultation, Installation & Maintenance

Fire gates close automatically in the event of a fire. This allows them to contain fire and smoke for 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes, even in very large wall openings. As a result, escape and rescue routes remain usable in an emergency, and occupants can safely leave the building. Fire gates are installed into masonry, concrete, or dry construction walls.

During normal operation, the fire gate can be opened electrically or manually. It is also held open by an electromagnet. In the event of a fire, the power supply to the electromagnets is interrupted via the fire alarm system, standalone smoke detectors, or a manual release button. The fire gate then closes using closing weights, immediately and independently.

Fire gates are particularly suitable for commercial buildings, warehouses, underground parking garages, production facilities, and airports. They are also frequently used in buildings with large floor areas and high occupancy (e.g. hospitals).

Fire gates are available in the following fire resistance classes:

• T30: fire-retardant
• T60: highly fire-retardant
• T90: fire-resistant
• T120: highly fire-resistant

When used along escape and rescue routes, the gate must be fitted with a wicket door. Optionally, they can be made translucent with fire protection glazing (in the wicket door). Fire gates are supplied as standard in galvanized sheet steel, with stainless steel or RAL color coatings available as options. They also comply with DIN 4102 and hold building authority approval from the DIBt (German Institute for Building Technology).
