CO2 Fire Extinguisher

Whether in a laboratory, server room, or electrical installation: the CO2 fire extinguisher extinguishes without leaving residue.

CO2 Fire Extinguisher

A CO₂ fire extinguisher (also known as a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher) uses carbon dioxide to extinguish Class B fires quickly, without leaving residue, and reliably. It is therefore suitable for liquid or liquefiable substances such as paints, tar, gasoline, or plastics. Thanks to its residue-free action, the CO₂ hand-held fire extinguisher is preferably used in sensitive areas – such as laboratories, electrical installations, IT and server rooms, cleanrooms, or control cabinets.

Important: CO₂ fire extinguishers are not suitable for Class A (solid materials) or Class D (metal) fires.

Buying & Maintaining CO₂ Fire Extinguishers

A CO₂ fire extinguisher provides reliable protection in areas where residue-free extinguishing is required. Various sizes – from 2 kg to 5 kg – are available for purchase, so you can find the right model for your company or facility. Our specialist advisors help you choose the right extinguisher for your individual needs.

Regular maintenance of CO₂ fire extinguishers is legally required and, according to DIN 14406, must take place at least every two years. Only an inspection by a qualified specialist ensures that your carbon dioxide extinguisher remains ready for use at all times. Our service technicians reliably carry out maintenance on site. On request, we offer you a maintenance contract that provides maximum safety and predictable costs. This helps you avoid downtime, meet all legal requirements, and ensure that your CO₂ fire extinguishers are immediately ready for use in an emergency.

Safety Instructions for Using CO₂ Fire Extinguishers

A CO₂ fire extinguisher displaces oxygen and may only be used in sufficiently large rooms. A floor area of at least 5.5 m² at a room height of 2 m is required per kilogram of extinguishing agent. In addition, employees must be instructed accordingly. We also recommend including CO2 extinguishers in the general risk assessment.
