Pillar Hydrant
Pillar Hydrant - Planning, Installation & Maintenance
A pillar hydrant is a permanently installed, above-ground fitting for drawing extinguishing water. The pillar hydrant has multiple outlets (A, B, or C) based on several couplings and is used only by the fire brigade. CWS offers various variants of pillar hydrants, e.g. with or without a breaking point, as well as drop-shield hydrants (nominal sizes DN 80 and DN 100, component operating pressure 16 bar). A pillar hydrant is available with the following connections:
- Flange connection
- Socket connection
- Spigot connection
Operation of pillar hydrants
The regulations of DIN 14462 and the Drinking Water Ordinance apply to the installation and operation of pillar hydrants. A direct connection to the drinking water system is not permitted in every case. In addition, maintenance of the pillar hydrant by a qualified expert is required at least once a year.
