House Alarm and Fire Warning System
House Alarm System & Fire Warning System - Consultation, Installation & Maintenance
House alarm systems (HAA) and fire warning systems (BWA) serve to detect hazards and warn people in the building in the event of a fire.
House alarm systems and fire warning systems are triggered automatically by smoke detectors or by activating a blue call point (compared to a red call point for fire alarm systems). They can be wired or connected via radio. House alarm systems and fire warning systems are not connected to the fire brigade's transmission system. Nevertheless, the house alarm system and fire warning system provide early warning through acoustic and visual signals in the event of fire or smoke, and display the location of the hazard at the house alarm control panel.
Difference Between House Alarm Systems, Fire Warning Systems, and Fire Alarm Systems
The house alarm system and fire warning system inform people present in the building in the event of a fire. The house alarm system operates independently of the power supply for 72 hours, the fire warning system for 12 hours. Neither is connected to the fire brigade. In contrast, the fire alarm system not only alerts people present, but also automatically informs the fire brigade, which then responds to the scene.
Areas of Application for House Alarm Systems and Fire Warning Systems
House alarm systems and fire warning systems are used where a fire alarm system is not directly required, but there are building regulatory requirements for alerting. This can apply, for example, in the following areas:
- High-rise buildings
- Residential homes and accommodation facilities
- Retail premises
- Assembly venues
- Schools, daycare centers, and sports facilities
Requirements for House Alarm Systems and Fire Warning Systems
There are no normative standards for house alarm systems, but rather association guidelines based on the installation standard for fire alarm systems. The draft standard DIN VDE 0826-2 sets out requirements for the design and operation of fire warning systems.
Maintenance of a House Alarm System
House alarm systems must be maintained at least once a year by a qualified specialist, in accordance with the requirements for fire alarm control panels DIN EN 54-2 and DIN EN 54-4.
